Located just north of Wilmington, NC, Pender County is a beautiful and quiet area that travels along the Intracoastal Waterway. The seat of Pender County is Burgaw, a quiet but growing area that is populated by people that may live and work in Burgaw, or make the short drive to the large area of Wilmington for their career. As of 2000, the population was 41,082. Pender County is part of the Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area and is popular to real estate buyers looking to enjoy the convenience of Wilmington, but prefer a little quieter lifestyle at home.
One of the more popular of Pender County real estate is the town of Hampstead, NC. Its location immediately north of Wilmington is convenient and the entire east side of Hampstead is located on the beautiful ICWW. With deep water access, panoramic ocean views and high land, water front homes in Hampstead can be priced on the higher end, but for those wanting to be near the water, many reasonable priced homes can be found withing communities that contain marinas or private boat access.
Pender County's large land mass has caused plenty of serene golf course communities to spring up along the way. With older communities like Olde Point and Belvedere plantation, beautiful lots that contain mature trees and quiet golf course settings can be purchased for a reasonable price.
