Now that there is no denying that cold weather and the holidays are upon us, it is an ideal time to consider purchasing a home at the beach.  Imagine sitting in front of a fire sipping hot beverages with friends and family while enjoying the smell and sounds of the ocean after spending the day boating, fishing and enjoying the beach. Although the market appeared to shift towards sellers over the Summer months (due to limited inventory and low rates), it is moving in favor of buyers again as it normally does in the off months.  As the market slows down until Spring, sellers who continue to market their properties are more apt to negotiate and exhibit motivation to reach a deal.

Wilmington NC Ranks #14 for New Homes

Builder magazine rated the Wilmington NC real estate market #14 on its list to watch in 2014 for growing new home sales (14 out of 100 regions in the U.S.).  The magazine, based in Washington D.C., monitors and tracks building trends across the country based on a region's expected growth and overall economic health. 

Raleigh-Cary ranked highest in the state of North Carolina, tying with metro Denver as #12, with an outlook score of 85.8, according to the ranking. Durham-Chapel Hill was ranked No. 21 with an outlook score of 83.

Wilmington continues to rank well on various lists of "places to watch" based on the steady value of real estate here and the strength of the local economy.  With the great weather and endless outdoor amenities available, Wilmington provides a relaxed coastal environment that is receiving a lot of national attention!

• Of the 1,215 sellers in 2nd Quarter – 27.33% paid some sort of concession toward the purchase of the house.
